Pertex® Shield delivers lightweight and packable protection whilst remaining highly breathable. Designed for intense mountain pursuits where weight and breathability are key, Pertex® Shield fabrics allow you to move fast and stay comfortable. The versatile 2, 2.5 and 3-layer constructions combine lightweight face fabrics with waterproof, windproof and breathable membranes. A durable water repellent (DWR) finish applied to the face fabric sheds rain and snow, which helps to maintain breathability.
IMPORTANT TO KNOW:
We recommend that you ALWAYS wash a new down jacket with a down detergent before using it. This prevents the loss of feathers. If you do not do this, there is a chance that the jacket will lose a lot of feathers during wear.
In addition to washing before the first use, we recommend that you wash your down jacket every 3 to 4 months with a down detergent. A very good down detergent is the Grangers Down 2 in 1 Wash & Repel.
